This has been a fantastic week! I have really enjoyed being back in the swing of things! Our focus this week has been on finding your path to personal happiness. I truly believe that happiness at your core leads to success and ultimate satisfaction in everything that you do.
We have talked about the three levels of happiness that are identified in the "Science of Happiness". The first level being the happiness achieved through pleasure. This is the instant gratification type of happiness. You want something, you get it, and your happy.......but only for a short period of time.
The second level is a more sustained type of happiness that is achieved by being passionate about something. You are happy when you are working on your passion. This type of happiness is great and is much more sustainable than the pleasure happiness.
The third and most incredible type is a happiness achieved through a higher purpose! Being part of something that is bigger than yourself! This is a high level happiness and sustained long term and often for your entire life!
All three levels play an important role in our lives, but we are cautioned to not get stuck on level one. This is where you want something---you get it--- your happy---happiness goes away---you want something else...........This level of happiness is waning and you are always on the chase. Ultimately this leads us to more unhappiness in our lives, which is definately not what we are after! I encourage you to do a little research on the science of happiness. I think you will really enjoy it and there is much to learn.
